We were surprised by a statement issued by the Humanitarian
affairs Coordinator to the United Nations Office in Yemen Mr.
Jamie McGoldrick, in which he said they were able to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged places in the city of Taiz.
We in the humanitarian relief coalition with more than 200 humanitarian association and institution emphasize the following:
1- Non-arrival of any humanitarian aid to the besieged areas until now. And what arrived of aid to Taiz remains in areas outside the besieged areas of the city only or are stored in places that are not defined by the World Food Program.
2- Local hospitals still suffer from an acute shortage of oxygen material and there are dozens of deaths because of the lack of Oxygen in emergency and operation rooms.
3- Taiz city still suffer from the suffocating siege around it, and nothing could enter the city such as urgent medical assistance.
4- Continuous Houthi Saleh militia shelling still happens everyday, causing dozens of killed and injured from civilians most are children and women during so-called truce in Taiz.
So we confirm that:
1- investigation of credibility in dealing with the claims of the arrival of relief materials to the city, We also appeal to international organizations to send observers on the ground to make sure of that and to visit hospitals and markets that suffer from an acute shortage of the necessary requirements.
2- A call to break the siege of the city and find a safe corridor for the passage of aid and relief and important medical materials.
Aids distribution come from the World Food Program as approved by the program plan. 3-Unless we carry responsibility for international organizations all what happens to innocent people in Taiz city of starving and killing by militia deliberate shelling and siege and their prevention aids, oxygen cylinders and entry of private aid medical and food supplies.
